How do I clean my new piercing?

Spray sterile saline solution on your piercing three times daily. Use a clean cotton pad soaked in saline to gently remove buildup, and rinse with warm water. Avoid alcohol or antiseptic products.

Can I touch or twist my new piercing?

Do not touch or twist your piercing. Hands can transfer bacteria and slow the healing process. Only touch it with clean hands when absolutely necessary.

When can I go swimming after a piercing?

Avoid swimming in pools, spas, or the ocean for at least 8 weeks after your piercing to prevent irritation and infection.

When should I come back for a check-up?

We recommend visiting Tattoora for a check-up after 2 weeks and again after 8 weeks for a jewellery change or downsize if needed.

Who can I contact if I have issues with healing?

You can contact Tattoora Darlinghurst at (02) 8875 9157 or through our website contact form. Our piercers are always available to help with aftercare and healing advice.

Don’t touch your piercing! Hands carry bacteria that can cause irritation or infection.
Still don’t touch it! We promise — your piercing heals best when left alone.
If you must touch it, wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap before doing so.
Spray sterile saline solution (from a pressurised can) three times daily. Use a clean cotton pad soaked in saline to remove buildup, then rinse gently with warm water.
No swimming in pools, spas, or the ocean for at least eight weeks – salt, chlorine, and bacteria can delay healing.
Avoid sleeping directly on your fresh piercing to prevent irritation or jewellery migration.
Do not twist, turn, or move your jewellery. It’s a myth that movement helps healing – it actually slows it down.
Do not use antiseptic, alcohol, or antibacterial solutions unless specifically advised by a professional. Stick with saline only.
Visit Tattoora for a check-up after two weeks and again after eight weeks for a jewellery change or downsizing if needed.
